Esprit Saturday Gala

Ladies and Gentlemen...It's The British Invasion!

Without a doubt, the Saturday Gala is the most elegant and exciting event at Esprit. This party culminates the week's activities and everyone has a chance to pull out their finest and spend the day getting ready for an evening of dining, dancing, socializing, and reminiscing. This year's theme is The British Invasion and we will have an evening of great music, food, and decor to create the mood.

It wouldn't be complete without you playing your part, so think mini-skirts, Victorian elegance, Austin Powers, high society balls, and go-go boots! (Not all at the same time, of course!)

Need go-go boots? Our own Debra Darling can get Pleaser brand black or white (and some other color) patent go-go boots in sizes up to 15 women's for only $20. Type "gogo" into the Pleaser search tool, email your questions and/or order to Debra before May 5 and they'll be waiting for you at Esprit.

Our party will feature a no-host cocktail hour before dinner to chat with old and new friends and show off your outfit. A full and leisurely dinner will be served with plenty of time for talking, socializing with other tables, and picture-taking. The Seattle band Free Rain returns again this year to play an evening of live popular dance music with some of that unmistakeable Brit feel. Want to really rock out? The Nasty Habits play punked-out 80's covers at Steele's, the largest sports bar in Port Angeles.

This event is open to the public for a $5 cover charge (donated to charity) after the meal has concluded around 9PM, possibly sooner. Esprit staff and a local security guard will provide security and screen guests. There will be a no-host bar serving alcohol so you must be 21 or over.

Slumber Party: Teddies and Teddy Bears

Don't forget the Slumber Party! As the evening winds to a close and the realization sinks in that Esprit is coming to an end, it's a good time to gather in a warm setting and spend the evening talking and laughing about the past week. The Slumber Party is your chance to slip into something comfortable and pile into a room with your pillows and blankets for what is always a loud, fun, and at times emotional get together. This year we will have moderators to guide the evening with comfortable and fun topics.

This year we have a special theme: Teddies and Teddy Bears. You are invited to wear that iconic bedtime item, the teddy (in its practical early 1900's form all the way up to the more colorful and trendy styles seen in the teddy's heyday of the 1980's) and to bring a new teddy bear. The teddy bears will be collected for the Teddy Bear Project and given to law enforcement and emergency responders for comforting children in times of distress. If you wish to have a teddy bear of your own for the evening, please bring one for yourself.

The party is held in the Hospitality Suite (Hollywood Beach Room, the former "Room 148").
