May 8, 2008: The excellent French film "Un Autre Femme" ("Another Woman") will be shown at Esprit on Thursday evening (room TBD) in a special pre-US-release screening. May 7, 2008: Gottschalk's and Fashion Bug announce their special sales and hours for the Thursday Ladies Shopping night. May 5, 2008: Online registration and scholarships are closed. Space remains available for walk-in registrations (bring cash, check or money order; no credit cards). If you still have questions, you may contact the registrar or scholarship coordinator by email for options on late applications. April 29, 2008: Many new activities added to the SO Program. Check the Room 248 listings throughout the week on the schedule. April 28, 2008: Rev. Silvia Behrend has been added and will present her course Gender and Soul: The Dance Toward Wholeness. Joyce Colson has been added and will present Trans-to-Trans Relationships. April 23, 2008: Due to unavoidable circumstances, Dr. Marci Bowers is unable to attend this year. April 23, 2008: Dr. Patricia Fawver presents a panel discussion on relationship solutions for couples. April 23, 2008: Black Diamond Bridal will have a special trunk show Thur-Sat to coincide with the Ladies Shopping Night. April 20, 2008: Silvia Martinez-Schempp, the producer of the award-winning film Boobalogues: Our Breasts, Our Lives, joins filmmaker Kathy Kiefer for the viewing and discussion of the film. April 20, 2008: Landing's Restaurant, across from the hotel on the pier, welcomes you to a free movie night on Thursday. They'll be showing "Boy What a Girl", a 1940's musical comedy with great period music and a drag appearance by The Kingfish (of vaudeville and Amos and Andy fame). April 19, 2008: NW Gender Alliance of Portland OR, one of the clubs sponsoring Esprit, hosts a Thursday evening Meet and Greet for current and prospective NWGA members. April 18, 2008: Princess Valiant Coffee returns again this year with their great selection of organic and socially responsible coffee products. They'll be in the Hollywood Beach hospitality suite on Tuesday during the lunch period. April 15, 2008: In addition to the annual college speaking panel we provide to classes at Peninsula College, we will have joint activities with the college's GBLT student association. April 12, 2008: Karen Sistek, who also hosts the paint-your-own-silk-scarf activity, has graciously donated last year's exclusive 3'x6' butterfly banner to the Hospice charity auction. You won't want to miss their amazing and touching stories gathered during their year long missing to being acceptance and understanding to ordinary people across the country. April 8, 2008: The yearbook will have special options this year to signify details such as first-timer status, first year attended, military service, and room for other details and comments. We strongly recommend that you take your photos as early as possible to ensure that you not miss out due to long lines later in the week and that you are happy with your picture. April 1, 2008: Sandy Hirsch returns to present a voice and authenticity class. Richard Stephens, a Port Angeles actor, teaches you all about sewing machines. A few more presenters and vendors have been updated in the schedule as well. March 24, 2008: We have great bands lined up with something for everyone. The Walrus plays popular and classic rock covers after Friday's Talent Show. Free Rain returns with their great mix of popular dance hits for the Saturday Gala. And The Nasty Habits play the 3 hottest clubs in town on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. March 24, 2008: Kelly Hansen, Christina Fletcher, Brenda Lefebvre, and Shannon Buzard added to the schedule as presenters. March 24, 2008: Mary Catherine's and Daughters have been added as a breast form provider. March 19, 2008: Transicality is the theme of our Talent Show this year. A little bit country, a little bit rock and roll, and a lot of fun! If you have an act you'd like to try, contact Margo. March 12, 2008: Karen Sistek returns to offer her silk scarf painting activity. Let your creative juices flow and in no time at all you'll have a beautiful signature scarf of your very own! March 2, 2008: Because of the new Thursday locally sponsored Ladies Shopping Night, the Esprit shopping trip will only visit Port Townsend on Tuesday afternoon this year and there will not be a separate shopping trip in Port Angeles. March 2, 2008: The slumber party has a theme this year. You are to bring a teddy bear to donate to the Teddy Bear Project. March 2, 2008: Many new resources are signed up. Gail Ruginis (airbrush makeup), Roby Sapp (photographer), Debbie Bowers and Kellie Spradlin (nails), and Ladonna Fry (jewelry) are all returning this year. March 2, 2008: The updated travel information page contains more ferry and land transportation resources. Don't forget to check the international travel requirements if you are crossing the border. March 2, 2008: New sponsors have joined the Friday Fashion Show, including the local funky fashion store Electric Beach and White House/Black Market. March 2, 2008: Calling all volunteers! Want to meet lots of people and help the cause at the same time? We need meal entrance checkers, "Vanna" girls for auctions and raffles, smiling faces to greet newcomers and make badges at the Registration Desk, and more. January 14, 2008: Biographies for Susan Lindsey (skin care and laser hair removal), Dr. Toby Meltzer (SRS), Kelly Hansen (presentation topics), and Kendra Schmidt (bellydancing) have been added as new presenters and resources on the Biographies page. January 9, 2008: Read more about the close connection Esprit has with Port Angeles through our Hospice charity activities. January 9, 2008: Local businesses are getting together to host a Ladies Shopping Night just for us. You can look forward to trunk shows, prizes, fondue, special treats, and late night shopping hours. January 7, 2008: Our scholarship program is well-funded this year. If you've thought about attending but couldn't because of financial constraints, this may be your year. The online scholarship application form will be opened very soon. Jaunary 7, 2008: A new page with Frequently Asked Questions and Rules has been added. January 6, 2008: Registration rates are announced and registration will open very soon. This is the 3rd year in a row that we are able to keep rates unchanged while still offering the same great event as always! December 30, 2007: Notice of major roadwork in Port Angeles through 2008 which will require detours if you go to certain distant parts of town. See Travel Info. November 6, 2007: Kathe Perez, a frequent Esprit presenter, is joined by Lynn Skinner to present Naturalizing Your Voice. October 21, 2007: The PO Box mailing address on the Contact page has changed. Use the new address PO Box 87334, Vancouver WA, 98687. July 31, 2007: Esprit donated $2194 raised through dances, raffles, and donations to the Hospice of Clallam County. Another new article was added to the 2007 press page, the first one that references the Peninsula Daily News' budding online article library. July 24, 2007: 2008 site is launched.
