Susan LaLone

Although a cross dresser for most of her life, her former job in a land management agency kept her in the remote back woods and away from active dressing. After retirement and a move to southern Washington, one of the first joys of city life was joining the NWGA. Susan spends her time with an extremely supportive spouse and a fat gray tabby named Jones. She is on the Board of the NWGA, and along with Jones regularly reviews books and movies for the NWGA newsletter.

In the afterglow of her first Esprit, she shared a thought common to many attendees in wanting to give back something to this unique community. What better way than to share with and support others than to join the Esprit Committee. This year, she hopes to help in guiding Esprit towards meeting your needs, whether they are emotional, spiritual, or educational. With the current Committee, this will without a doubt be a joyous experience.

A lifelong videophile and crossdresser, Susan is retired from the National Park Service. Living in the deep woods for many years, she has acquired a large video library, with more trans related films than you may be aware exist.

Transgenders in Film

Using video and discussion, this class looks at a brief history of transgender themes and transgender people in film over the years. We will look at how their negative and positive depictions have evolved through various genres of film such as comedy, drama, and documentary.

ESPRIT, ESPRIT GALA and ESPRIT 2010 relate only to the yearly transgender conference
held in Port Angeles, WA. The conference and organization is not associated or connected
with the global apparel company Esprit or its marks.
