Cheryl Collins
I am a Co-Gender with the feminine side dominating my Temperament; I have known of my "other-half" since 1954 but have only been able to "get out" and be somewhat free for the last few years. The Mind and the Body are interconnected and influence each other and Temperament, and Temperament influences Behavior and Personality. I had always wondered, as did others (ouch!), why I tended to nurture relationships rather than dominate them, to discuss family and relationships as well as work and sports, and, now, through research, introspection, and study, I have a few clues. I have 22 years of formal education and hold a Master's Degree teaching 26 separate courses in Graduate and Undergraduate studies as well as in Vocational-Technical Education over 12 years. I have put my Academic bent to a serious study of what really drives Temperament and Personality. My SO and I are Emerald City Members and have been Esprit Participants since 2005, and I am a “Hatter”. Temperament: What is your Gender Temperament and so what? Life is long, but it is far too short not to be who you are! Your Temperament is always trying to get out of that shell and to express itself while our societal perceptions want to check its expression. We will explore that Temperament and study our Culture as well as perceptions to understand and be who we are. While Temperament and Personality are separate from outward physical characteristics they are partly driven by it, and to understand those underlying feelings one needs to honestly answer some questions that identify their origins, and these are rooted in your Temperament. This Class will explore where Personality and Identity come from to help you to understand yourself and to be more comfortable with your complicated existence; we will also discuss our changing culture and its effect upon our Identity. A Role Identity Questionnaire will be given and evaluated for you to help clarify your basic Gender Temperament. Transparencies or PowerPoint will be utilized to underline and understand our Topic, and you will leave with a detailed handout on the material. I like fun, so we will do some learning and have a good time doing it!
